Teams
The club has begun a development squad of young primary school children between the ages of eight and eleven, who are not ready yet to play at league level. This development team is to provide the foundations for the future of the club. The development squad will allow the younger players to develop both physically and mentally for the game and it also teaches the children about teamwork and fun. The development squad allows each player to develop individually with out the pressure of matches and competition at such a young age. These children will hopefully go on to represent the club at competition level in a few years time, while the club continues to recruit into its development programme.

The future of Mercy is to be a strong one with support of the club building from year to year Mercy Coolock Basketball programme is becoming increasingly popular. The huge success of our senior team over the past few years has got the club much media coverage. At present the club has coaches involved in different schools in Dublin, which at act as feeders for the club. We have coaches in numerous Dublin primary schools with the aim of developing interest in sport at a younger age examples of primary schools which we have become involved in are Scoil Catriona Coolock and Hollypark National School Blackrock. There is also a club coach involved in secondary schools such as Mercy Coolock itself and Loreto secondary school Foxrock. Many girls who get involved in the academy also go on to join one of the club teams.
